Max Payne Review

Posted by VARUN | 5:08 PM | | 0 comments »

Max Payne is a 2008 action film based on the 2001 video game of the same name. The film was directed by John Moore and stars Mark Wahlberg in the title role.

A New York police detective (Mark Wahlberg), tortured by the unsolved murder of his wife and child, learns that the killers may be involved with a murky underworld of tattooed addicts to a mysterious and powerful new drug. Beau Thorne’s script can claim the dubious distinction of having even less of a story than the video game on which it is based; it’s muddled and skimpy, and the bad guys are obvious almost before they open their mouths. Director John Moore tarts the proceedings up with Matrix-style slo-mo and graphic-novel images that are striking but static, leading up to a madly over-the-top climax. With over 7 million copies sold, the game probably has enough fans to give the movie a big opening weekend, after which they’ll go back to their Xboxes and PlayStations—where the action is surely a lot more fun.

Quantum of Solace (2008) is the 22nd James Bond film by EON Productions, due for release on 7 november 2008 worldwide. The sequel to the 2006 film Casino Royale, it is directed by Marc Forster, and features Daniel Craig's second performance as James Bond. In the film, Bond battles Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), a member of the Quantum organisation posing as an environmentalist, who intends to stage a coup d'état in Bolivia to take control of its water supply. Bond seeks revenge for the death of Vesper Lynd, and is assisted by Camille (Olga Kurylenko), who also wants to kill Greene.

Producer Michael G. Wilson created the film's plot while Casino Royale was shooting. Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Paul Haggis and Joshua Zetumer contributed to the script. The title was chosen from a 1960 short story in Ian Fleming's For Your Eyes Only, though the film is not expected to contain any elements of the original story. Location filming took place in Panama, Chile, Italy and Austria, while the sets were built at Pinewood Studios. Forster aimed to make the film more modern yet classic: antique planes were used for a dogfight sequence, while Dennis Gassner's set designs are reminiscent of Ken Adam's work on several early Bond films, yet Forster rejected a grotesque appearance for Greene to comment on the hidden nature of the film's corporate villains.

Vaaranam Aayiram meaning, A Thousand Elephants, is all set to release for diwali. The film was directed by Gautham Menon and produced by Oscar Ravichandran. It stars Surya, Sivakumar, Simran, Sameera Reddy and Divya. The film's soundtrack was composed by Harris Jayaraj with lyrics written by Thamarai.
Earlier we had rumors saying that this film was a remake of yesteryear Hollywood flick Tom Hanks Forrest Gump. Like Tom Hanks appears on various get-ups, Surya also seems to be appearing in different roles like school student and a navy officer. But soon the script was changed, after this issue. Now we have the exact storyline of Vaaranam Aayiram and here goes the story.
An- eighteen year old chap is killed mysteriously by an unknown group and now soul of the killed victim gets in Surya. So remaining part of the story involves how the soul that is into Surya takes revenge of those who killed him. This tale is exceptionally narrated by Gautham Menon. Let us hope that this film rocks and sets a new height for Surya.
